Get ready

A comfortable space and a grown-up to watch with you. No special magic prop needed.

This is an illusion, not a flexibility challenge. Never force or pull an arm or wrist. Watch or narrate instead if the movement is uncomfortable.

These are observation and presentation prompts to use with Lee’s video. They do not replace the visual explanation of the illusion.

  1. Step 1

Watch Lee’s demonstration with a grown-up before trying a movement. Notice what the audience sees and how Lee positions himself.

  2. Step 2

Replay the explanation slowly. Only follow a position if it feels easy and comfortable. Your helper can demonstrate while you observe; watching is a complete way to take part.

  3. Step 3

Practice the introduction and the moment of surprise. Say, sign, or point to “Watch closely!” You can tell the story without performing the arm movement.

  4. Step 4

Share the illusion or describe what you noticed to a friendly audience. End with “Thank you for watching!” Name one part you would like to practice again.
